Plenary Session The big food redesign

You can attend this session at the Plenary track.

October 15 | h.10:00 - 10:30

While our food system has sustained a growing population and brought economic development, much of it is now linear and extractive - globally it is the primary driver of biodiversity loss and accounts for a third of global greenhouse gas emissions.

Imagine a food system where at the minimum, every choice consumers make is a good one for nature. Where every box of cereal, every ready meal, every bag of flour, cold drink, chocolate bar and all our fresh fruit and veg, is actively improving soil health, building biodiversity and contributing to tackling climate change. Where the choices in what people buy and eat support nature to thrive.

In this keynote presentation, we will explore how changing our food system to one based on the principles of a circular economy is one of the most powerful things we can do to tackle climate change and build biodiversity.

Together we can redesign food for nature to thrive.
