The 10 selected agrifood entrepreneurs for the fifth edition of EWA Türkiye are announced

10 female entrepreneurs will go through a 6-month programme adapted to creating solutions for specific challenges in the agrifood industry

In Türkiye, 10 female entrepreneurs selected among the applications will attend online and offline training and events for 6 months and receive both one-on-one and expert mentorship support. The winner in the country final will receive a prize of 10,000, and the runner-up will receive a prize of 5,000.

Since its first year, the programme has been carried out in Türkiye with the partnership of Impact Hub Istanbul's food and agriculture entrepreneurship platform Foodback and Topraktan.co.

The 10 selected entrepreneurs for EWA programme in Türkiye are:

  • Gizem Uysal - HELİOS: Helios is developing a greenhouse cover containing advanced technological material that increases plant productivity and reduces carbon emissions by capturing carbon dioxide in the air and releasing it back into the greenhouse environment.
  • Ebru Ipek Aktukmak - TedaBir: TedaBir is a platform that enables suppliers in the food industry to digitize their operations, connect with their customers online, streamline their workflows, increase operational efficiency, and grow their business by acquiring new customers.
  • Fatmanur Poyraz Ekinci - Beetech: Beetech aims to support sustainable agriculture by protecting bee health and developing innovative, functional bee products that benefit human health. Additionally, it seeks to make bee products with clean ingredients accessible to the masses.
  • Zerrin Cantürk and Miriş Dikmen - PostBiotech: PostBiotech produces postbiotics developed using organic waste and formulated with fermentation technology. These postbiotics are suitable for use in animal feed additives and food preservation fields.
  • Saadet Alpdagtas - Bio4life: Bio4life enables the evaluation of agricultural and industrial wastes and the development of biomaterials for the fashion industry by designing biotechnological processes fit for purpose.
  • İpek Tüysüzoğlu - Yugen: YUGEN produces plant-based leather as an alternative to real and artificial leather by upcycling pomegranate peel waste, addressing the high environmental impact of traditional leather in the textile industry.
  • Özge Boz and Evrim Özge Paşaoğulları - BarleyCo: BarleyCo is a startup that produces sustainable cellulosic raw materials for the packaging industry from annual plant stems.
  • Hande Güventürk - POSAMAS: Posamas transforms the by-products resulting from the production of fermented grape juice into multifunctional products for the cosmetics, food, and health sectors.
  • Bahar Gök - Raymare: Raymare produces innovative biostimulants from hazelnut shell waste.
  • Cansu Yegin - Future Ventures: Future Ventures develops healthier hemp and seed-based products for agricultural producers and end consumers with a zero waste policy.
