Flagship Bilbao events to host the best of European entrepreneurship and innovation

INNOVEIT Bilbao and the fourth edition of FUN&FAN will take place in Bilbao (Spain) in October. EIT Food is proud to be supporting these two events at the San Mamés stadium, which will showcase European innovation and entrepreneurship and feature top-level speakers and innovative startups from across Europe.

INNOVEIT weeks are a series of EIT community-led events taking place across Europe throughout September and October. These events put entrepreneurs and innovators in the spotlight as they seek to solve different global challenges. The events are organised by the EIT communities, and focus on areas such as health, digital entrepreneurship and design.

INNOVEIT Bilbao will take place on 5 October 2022. Titled Women Entrepreneurship & Leadership, the event will focus on the challenges faced by women entrepreneurs. The aim of the event is to take a closer look at the current landscape in Europe, and share ideas on how to address the gender gap and promote female entrepreneurship within the EIT community. It will seek to emphasise the important role of women in economic growth, unpick the factors contributing to the gender gap in entrepreneurship and finance, showcase recent good practices to overcome business stereotypes, and present the programmes that are currently challenging gender and culture-specific assumptions.

Speakers and experts such as María de Miguel, General Director of the High Commissioner of Spain Entrepreneurial Nation, will join Martin Kern, Director of EIT, to address the different perspectives of this global problem.

In addition to INNOVEIT Bilbao, other INNOVEIT events are also taking place in Stockholm, Budapest, Brno, Tallinn, Paris, Warsaw, Berlin, Athens and Brussels, each with a different theme.

Fourth edition of FUN&FAN

The fourth edition of FUN&FAN will take place this year on 6 October, and will connect innovative agrifood startups from all over Europe with investors, large companies and other professionals to share experiences and success stories, learn about the investment trends of 2022 and enjoy inspiring presentations.

Presentations and roundtable discussions will provide startups such as Aitana Spirulina, Bosque Foods or AgroGRIn Tech with the opportunity to share their innovative solutions and stories.

In addition, the importance of innovation in the agrifood sector will be highlighted through sessions with professionals from technology centres and entities such as Neiker, Azti and the Basque Culinary Center.

Participants will gain insights into perspectives about the global food tech market, as well as the key investment trends to watch in 2022, and the importance of collaboration and association for agrifood startups to grow and reach the market.
