On October 1st and 2nd, the Empowering Women in Agrifood (EWA) 2024 Masterclass took place at Fundación MÁS in Sevilla, bringing together women entrepreneurs to deepen their knowledge on leadership, communication, and purpose. The event was organized as part of the EWA Spain edition, which is implemented by Loyola University, a key partner in fostering innovation and empowering women entrepreneurs in the agrifood sector. The two-day event offered a balance between team-building activities and formal training, helping participants connect on both personal and professional levels.

A day of networking and connection

The first day was dedicated to welcoming participants and fostering a sense of belonging within the group. The day began with fun, interactive activities aimed at encouraging networking among the participants. In the afternoon, the group enjoyed a guided tour of the city, followed by an evening cooking workshop and team-building session where they learned to prepare a traditional Andalusian dinner.

Practical tools for entrepreneurs

The second day focused on formal training, led by Ana López Sousa, who facilitated the Leadership with Purpose session. The day began with an activity where participants reflected on their personal and entrepreneurial starting points, identifying the impact they wish to create through their projects.

Following this, the entrepreneurs presented their business ideas and received valuable feedback, with a focus on improving communication rather than the content itself. The session continued with a workshop aimed at defining the purpose of each participant's project, exploring the values that support that purpose, the resources they currently have, and what they still need to achieve their goals.

To conclude, the participants visualized their purpose, values, and resources in a creative drawing exercise, helping them solidify their vision and plan for success.

Learning, leadership, and communication

This masterclass provided participants with practical insights into leadership, communication, and purpose-driven entrepreneurship. Facilitator Ana López Sousa, who will also lead the upcoming pitching workshop, ensured that the participants left with enhanced skills and a clearer understanding of the steps needed to move their businesses forward.
