The startups collaborated with leading research centres in packaging innovation to further develop and validate their technologies (read about their innovations here) which they presented at the CSIC research centre in Madrid.
EIT Food South would like to thank CSIC, Fraunhofer, Itene, INL and IRTA for their contribution and supporting the startups to take their technology to the next level. The three winning Startups will be announced at EIT's annual networking event, Next Bite in Rome.
Thanks to the Accelerator, a number of Startups are developing pilot projects with a number of corporates from EIT Food's network, notably with the beverage brands Hijos de Rivera and EFES, and with international food manufacturers, Paulig, General Mills and food service company, Sodexo.
The next stage of the Accelerator, taking place in September and October will focus on preparing the Startups with their fundraising and investment strategies.
Leading investors in agrifood tech will interact and exchange with the entrepreneurs on how to best approach impact investors and what it means to be impact from an investor perspective.
Interactive case studies together with the investors and the entrepreneurs will help the startups to negotiate termsheets and captables. And on the last day, the startups will learn about best practices for setting up a Board of Governance, bringing in experienced VC investors and Corporate Venturing investors and legal advisor that have plenty of experience sitting on Boards.
We are also very excited to inform you that the EIT Food Startups will be pitching at Europe's leading event, The Gap In-between, on 8th October in Valencia!
