This week the EIT Food Accelerator Network Bilbao Hub ran a three-day Investment Readiness Workshop at the BAT B Accelerator Tower.

It was not just all work, a fun surfing session, as a reflection of the entrepreneurial journey, ensuring that together we can choose the right waves, acknowledging that the journey is tough, but appreciating that despite all the pain and strain, it is worth it in the end.

Antoine Cocle from Kaya Impacto and Juan de Navasqüés Dacal from Pinsent Masons, brought in their financial and legal expertise and knowledge to prepare startups for fundraising and negotiations with investors.

Our EIT Food Accelerator Network alumni Vinh Ly, Founder of Kyanos Biotechnologies (2021 FAN) and Nicolás Gallo, CFO of Innomy (2022 FAN) joined the workshop to share their story and fundraising experience with investors.

Guest investors Nora Alonso - Associate at Swanlaab Venture Factory, Juan Astigarraga Ochoa - Investment Associate at Stellum Capital, Eduardo Pérez Martínez - Senior Analyst at Tech Transfer Agrifood Fund Clave Capital and Nina Alastruey - Member of the Investment Committee at Demium Capital led an interesting interactive panel discussion, answering questions and sharing their perspective, top tips and key learnings with the startups.

It has been a pleasure to have The BEAZ team (Ekain Laka Zelaia and Sabin Goitia Goienetxea) from Vizcaya Government for presenting interesting funding opportunities for startups in the Basque Startup Ecosystem, to mentor Martin Rivas, the entrepreneurs from our 2023 cohort, Rodolphe Cockenpot from Osiris Agriculture, Arnold de Maere from Minagro - Maximize Your Impact, Andre Retief from Algaementum, Aneta Ozierańska from Oligofeed, Peter Jens from Noselfand, Agata Paluba from MeteoTrack and Mary Grace Gasco from SpaceCrop Technologies.

Participating in the FAN Bilbao and discussing with the other entrepreneurs about our challenges, always means I return home full of energy!
