Reducing greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture by creating sustainable fungi protein alternatives

Juan Pablo de Giacomi is CEO and Co-Founder of Spain-based Innomy, a member of the EIT Food Accelerator Network. Innomy have developed a new generation of sustainable fungi-based food products which have increased nutritional benefits and a lower environmental impact compared to meat.

The products take advantage of the mycelium structure of fungi to replicate the texture and taste of meat without using additives and preservatives.By creating viable meat alternatives, Innomy’s solution aims to reduce the need for animal-based agriculture, one of the largest emitters of greenhouse gas emissions.
