Using electricity to kill weeds without harmful chemical herbicides

Andrew Diprose is CEO of RisingFoodStars UK-based startup RootWave., which kills weeds using electricity. By targeting weeds with electricity, RootWave enables better weed control at a lower cost compared to herbicides, whilst protecting soil health, water and biodiversity. Independent fields trials have confirmed that RootWave’s technology offers better weed control in fewer treatments and at a lower cost than herbicides.
Reducing herbicides and chemical inputs also helps to increase the capacity of the soil for carbon sequestration reducing the amount of carbon entering the atmosphere as CO2.
