Sustainable Rice: Food, Climate and People - 26-27 November 2024, United Nations Conference Centre, Bangkok, Thailand

Rice touches the lives of over half the people on our planet. Since the Paris Agreement and the Methane Pledge, the crop’s linkages to multiple targets under the UN Sustainable Development Goals have been increasingly recognized in global debates and reflected programmatically in the portfolios of development agencies.

Under the theme, "Sustainable Rice: Food, Climate and People" the 3rd Global Sustainable Rice Conference & Exhibition 2024 (SRP Conference 2024) will focus on the integral role of rice at the intersection of global debates on sustainable food systems and climate change, and on challenges and emerging opportunities to contribute towards systemic rice sector transformation. The event will dovetail with the 2024 SRP Annual General Assembly meeting (for SRP members only).

Why Join?

The event offers SRP members and partners an opportunity to present and discuss initiatives to derisk value chains and catalyze broader change through collaboration on scaling initiatives such as the Sustainable Rice Landscapes Initiative. Digital tools will feature strongly in the program, particularly in the context of impact monitoring and carbon accounting.

  • Insights from Experts: Gain valuable insights and recommendations from SRP members and other stakeholders actively participating within the SRP framework.
  • Innovation: Discover the latest innovations and approaches in sustainable rice production.
  • Collaboration & Partnerships: Foster collaboration, create new partnerships, and exchange knowledge with a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Networking Opportunities: Build and strengthen networks with key players in the rice industry, including policymakers, researchers, and industry leaders.
